NagarNazar Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026
NagarNazar (“we”) is a civic reporting app. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Account
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we store your user id and the display name and email your provider shares. You can use the app to browse cases without signing in. Filing, confirming, flagging, or resolving a case requires sign-in.
Location
We use your device location only while you file a case or confirm, flag, or resolve one. Location is used to attach a pin to a report, check that you are within 500 m of a case, and look up a street address on your device. Precise coordinates are stored with the case you file.
Photos
Photos you attach to a case are uploaded so others can see the problem. Do not include unrelated private images. Photos may be stored with our hosting providers (including Cloudinary and Firebase).
Case content
Case descriptions, category, severity, address text, and photos are public. Shared links can be opened without an account. We do not show your name on cases to other users.
Unique views and shares
We count unique case views and successful shares. A visitor is identified by signed-in user id when available, otherwise a random device id on the app or a random browser id stored in local storage. Each Share tap gets its own share id in the link; that share counts as successful when someone else opens it. Visitor keys are stored as hashes. We do not use this for advertising.
How we use data
- Show civic reports on the map and in lists
- Count unique views and successful shares
- Prevent spam with daily action limits
- Operate, secure, and debug the service
We do not sell personal data. We do not use advertising SDKs or an advertising ID.
Retention
Cases stay public while the service operates, including after they are marked resolved. Account records remain until you ask us to delete them.
Children
NagarNazar is not directed at children under 13. After you sign in, we ask for your date of birth if your account does not already have it. If you are 13 or older, we store that date so we can allow filing and votes. If you are under 13, we only store the year you were born and you can browse cases, not file or vote. We do not knowingly collect more personal information from children under 13. Our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) are at https://nagarnazar.web.app/csae.html.
